DS48

DS48 is an interior design project for a seafood restaurant in Katendrecht, Rotterdam. The main inspiration for this project comes from the spatial and cuisine language of Normandy.
This restaurant intends to resemble a sense of purity and primal comfort while celebrating playfulness through displaying the owner’s personal collection of oyster plates.

The walls and ceiling are kept within a warm color palette, featuring curtains from pure, unbleached cotton canvas. They create a feeling of drafting, something in creation. It is similar to creating a prototype of a garment. It includes guests as a part of the culinary experience.

The bar, set next to the entrance, is highlighted in an intensive yellow color, accentuating an interaction point almost floating above the stone blue flooring.
